Cute S’more Pretzel Bites: a Perfect Salty-Sweet Treat

Craving s’mores without the campfire? Try these salty-sweet s’more pretzel bites, topped with cute Teddy Graham bears. They’re a fun kids dessert or an easy summer bbq treat.

These super cute s’more pretzels are basically my dream sweet snack. They’ve got just the right amount of saltiness to accentuate all the s’more flavors without being overly sweet.

Plus, they’re not messy like regular s’mores and you can make them in advance so they’re a great summer party dessert. Don’t get me wrong, I love an ooey gooey s’more sometimes, but if I can get all the same flavor without sticky marshmallow hands, count me in.

These s’more pretzels are way easier than they look. They come together quickly and don’t take any fancy baking skills, but still will wow at a party.

Let’s make some s’mores!

4. Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake until marshmallows start to puff up and soften, about 5 minutes. You can adjust the bake time for more marshmallow browning, watching closely until it reaches your preferred level of golden brown.

5. When pretzels come out of the oven, press another pretzel on top of the marshmallow. If the marshmallow is not sticky enough, gently pinch the top of the marshmallow to break the thin crust and reveal a little of the sticky inner marshmallow. Repeat with each pretzel bite and let fully cool.

6. While pretzel marshmallows cool, prepare the melted chocolate for dipping. Put ½ cup of chocolate chips and a ¼ teaspoon coconut oil into a microwave safe cup or small bowl. Microwave chocolate in 30 seconds intervals, stirring between.

NOTE ON MELTING CHOCOLATE: Getting the right consistency for the chocolate will depend on your chocolate, microwave and oil. Start slowly with oil amount & cook time and check it frequently. Adding too much oil will prevent the chocolate from firming up again after it cools.

7. Dip each pretzel bit half way into the melted chocolate and return to parchment baking sheeting. While chocolate is still wet, place one Teddy Graham bear on top making sure that part of the bear is adhered to the chocolate. Sprinkle with salt.

9. After dipping all the pretzel bites, place in the freezer for 10 minutes to cool and firm the chocolate. This can also be done at room temperature by letting them rest ~30-60 minutes (if you live somewhere cooler, this doesn’t work as well in my warm Florida house).

10. Pretzel bites can store at room temperature for about 3 days, but the pretzels will start to lose their snap over time. I think they’re best the day you make them, and personally try to eat them within the first 48 hours.
