Ruler Rice Krispie Treats

These may be the easiest back to school cookies ever. Rice Krispies treat rulers are a clever way to turn a store-bought snack into something cute and school-themed, great for school treats or classroom parties. With just a bit of reshaping and some simple candy melt piping, you can transform crispy squares into cute rulers that kids will love.

It’s a great project for back-to-school snacks, teacher appreciation, or even lunchbox surprises. Plus, it’s forgiving enough for beginners, making it a fun and easy dessert to make with kids.

This recipe uses store bought Rice Krispie treats for ease, but you can easily make a homemade version too (here’s one of my recipes for Homemade Rice Krispie Treats if you want to do it from scratch).

Let’s measure out these cute desserts!

Steps to Make Ruler Rice Krispie Treats

1. Remove wrappers if using store-bought Rice Krispie Treats or make homemade rice krispie treats (here’s one of my Rice Krispie Treat recipes)

2. Press and shape each treat into a rectangular ruler form. Use a bench scraper to create straight, sharp edges.

3. Melt black candy melts per package directions and pour into a piping bag. I melt in the microwave on 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring between.
