Ingredients

Steps to make Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats
1. Grease a baking pan or line with parchment paper including sides. Line a tray or baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.

3. Once butter is fully melted, add in marshmallows and stir continuously until marshmallows melt.

4. Remove from heat and stir in the rice krispies. Gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.

5. In the greased baking pan, press the rice krispie mixture down into the pan using your hands or spatula. TIP: add a little neutral oil on your hands or spatula to keep the rice krispies from sticking as you press them down.

6. Allow to cool and then cut the rice krispies to your desired shape
7. Melt chocolate wafers per package directions as chocolate brands vary. I personally do 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between, until melted. TIP: You can add drops of neutral oil to thin the melted chocolate as needed, but add slowly so the chocolate doesn’t become too thin

8. Dip the ends of the rice krispies in the melted white chocolate and lay on your parchment lined tray or baking sheet. Add sprinkles before the chocolate hardens

9. Allow white chocolate to cool and harden before serving. You can pop them into the fridge for 10 minutes to speed up this step.
